New name, same great festival. Due to the event getting bigger, the “Dio” had to be dropped, but when you look at the first announcement you’ll see that this is a small price to pay.
First off the blocks are Memoriam, the spiritual successors to the now-retired Bolt Thrower. Formed as a bit of a gap-filler, Memoriam rapidly gained more attention than was anticipated and the band are now picking a few festivals to share their new material. Manor Fest is one.
Keeping the death metal flag flying high are Rotting Repugnancy, based in the West Midlands. Their two releases – an EP and an album – are based on a 2-man crew with a drum machine but that’s not stopped them receiving rave reviews and supporting the likes of Obituary and Venom Inc.
Manor Fest will be held on May 13th 2017 at Keighley Victoria Hall, West Yorkshire. It will raise money for the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.
