Tell me this isn’t a great old-school line-up, I dare ya. British rock stalwarts Saxon are hitting the road in October and November, bringing new/old boys Fastway and femme fatales Girlschool. The latter should be familiar to one and all, but Fastway are a “new” act made up of well-known names. The brainchild of ex-Motorhead guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke and UFO bassist Pete Way, the current line-up features Toby Jepson on vocals, Steve Strange on drums and Mama’s Boys’ John McManus on bass.
The tour dates are a continuation of Saxon’s support slot with Motorhead which was cut short last year as Lemmy finally decided that he’d exceeded the safe level of awesome permitting him to remain on this mortal coil. Saxon’s 40th anniversary dates were put on hold, but the Battering Ram tour is back underway this winter.
Note that Girlschool won’t be making the hop over to Dublin and Belfast where Fastway will be the only support. Tickets are on sale now from the usual outlets.
