Machine Head may have to cancel all remaining North American dates

Bad news from the MfnH camp as Robb Flynn’s lung infection has very much not cleared up after four cancelled shows to rest his voice have failed to shift it.

Flynn has seen a medic, but been told that antibiotics just won’t work and he has to weather things through until the infection just passes. As Robb himself says in his video statement, he’s played gigs with a burst eardrum, others while shitting in a bucket between songs… but this particular problem makes it simply impossible for him to perform vocally.

As things stand, the tour is already now financially making a loss and a decision will be made shortly as to whether to write the whole thing off. Plans, obviously, will be made to return to the skipped cities sometime later.

Selfishly, we’re hoping that he’s recovered by May for the UK and European dates but genuine metal brotherhood feelings go out to fans in the US who will be disappointed by the cancellations. We’ll keep everyone informed as and when we get news through.

Get well soon, Robb. And as for those negative comments… don’t let the bastards grind you down!
