Album News: Warfist, Lamb Of God, Wardruna, Witchery

Some album news for you on this fine Friday!

Warfist

warfist-metal-to-the-bonePolish blackened thrashers Warfist have unveiled the title track from their upcoming sophomore album, Metal to the Bone. The headbanging tune is now streaming exclusively over at Echoes & Dust. As well as this, on the 31st of this month, we here at MT will be premiering the new album exclusively in full! Very aptly titled, Metal to the Bone explodes with a hard-charging, hard-partying attack of blackthrash-meets-rock ‘n’ roll. But whereas many of their contemporaries similarly offer obeisance to lust, filth, and sleaze, Warfist are truly living it here, and throttle the listener with an authenticity that’s far from gimmicky “fun.” The album is released on November 4th via Godz ov War Productions and can be streamed exclusively here at MT on the 31st of this month.

Lamb Of God

lamb-of-god-the-duke-epInternationally-renowned metal band Lamb Of God will release a brand new EP, titled The Duke, on November 18 via Nuclear Blast. The EP will also be released on vinyl a week later, on November 25. Wardruna

Wardruna - Runaljod – RagnarokThe release date for Wardruna´s new album Runaljod – Ragnarok is now upon us and the group have shared another brand new track ‘Runaljod’. Einar Selvik comments:

“Runaljod is based on my own version of a 13th-century runic poem that contains one short verse for each of the 16 Viking age runes. The verses state the name of each rune and also give some sort of indication of a symbolic value as well. In true runic spirit, some of them are quite cryptic, like a riddle that tend to leave you with more questions than answers. Those of you who have been to a Wardruna concert within the last three years might recognize this song as a shorter and slightly different version of ‘Runaljod’ has been in our live setup since early 2013.”

Witchery

Swedish blackened Metallers Witchery are gearing up for the release of their long-awaited 6th studio album, programmatically entitled In His Infernal Majesty’s Service on November 25th, 2016 via Century Media Records. Celebrating the 20th year of the group’s existence, In His Infernal Majesty’s Service showcases an illustrious and  revamped line-up consisting of original members Jensen (Guit., The Haunted), Rikard Rimfält (Guit., Seance) and Sharlee D’Angelo (Bass, Arch Enemy), alongside new additions to this nocturnal guild Angus Norder (Vox, Nekrokraft) and Chris Barkensjö (Drums, LIK). Self-evidently, Witchery stays the stylistic course and continues their infamous tradition of combining the best elements of old school Thrash, Speed, Death, Black and ultimately pure Heavy Metal with dead-on songwriting precision for maximum listening pleasure.
