Take a healthy smudge of British alt-rock and combine with Scottish temperament and American grunge and you have This Year’s Ghost, with their new EP Yesterday Becomes Tomorrow Today, out November 20th.
A fine offering of melodic heavy rock, full of provoking lyrical content and infectious vocal hooks, YBTT was recorded with producer Matt Hyde (Slipknot/Machine Head/Funeral For A Friend/Gallows) and features guest vocals from Stitch D (The Defiled).
Equally inspired by Biffy Clyro, Pearl Jam and Alter Bridge, YBTT is a fine mixture of earnest hand-on-heart hard rock combined with the raw vocal quality of the best grunge. Written about and in dedication to the deaths of close friends of guitarist and vocalist Paul McKenzie, the EP takes the listener on a journey of loss of youth, anger, acceptance and finally, redemption.
A fierce heart with pure emotion make This Year’s Ghost’s second EP stand above the crowd. Having played up and down the country, including London’s O2 Academy Islington, the multinational This Year’s Ghost are set to take their huge sound to the next level.
