Textures announce new albums and London date

Textures - PhenotypeDutch polyrhythmic metal maniacs Textures are about to release a musical diptych: Phenotype and Genotype.

Albums number 5 and 6, these are new albums set up around one concept. The Dutch sextet is not a band that puts out an album every year, these creative masterpieces took almost 2.5 years to write and record.
Music is no quick endeavour for Textures, the details are crafted and re-crafted. Extra layers are created and stretched to form the ultimately sublime soundscape.

Phenotype – due to be released on February 5th, 2016 via Nuclear Blast – is a song-based, 60-minute long album. Textures present an eclectic overview of what modern metal offers. Catchy, innovative and progressive songs. New musical virtuosos Uri Dijk (synth) and Joe Tal (guitar) deliver a new, harmonic vibe to their already mature sound.

Genotype – which will be released a year later via Nuclear Blast – is a 45-minute long conceptual track. The root material that Phenotype consists of, is presented in this song but in a totally different context Textures go out-of-the-box. More proggy, more atmospheric and lots of extra layers to fill the final gaps left in this extensive, doubly exquisite endeavour.

In support of Phenotype, Textures will play the London Underworld on February 25th, 2016 as part of their larger European tour entitled the Oceans Collide Tour 2016. You can purchase tickets for Textures’ London show via the Underworld.
