For those who don’t know, or who’ve not been reading this page for ages, Ed Box was once upon a time part of Newcastle-based rock phenomenon XLR8R. An incredible band who had the bad luck to be at the top of their game at a time when the record companies decided that rock was dead and went on to sign shite like the Spice Girls instead.
Ed’s continued to work as a guitarist/producer and has had a few solo projects over the years. However, here’s one I didn’t know about that he’s revisited recently. Well worth checking out via the link below to listen to some samples. I’ll let Ed do the talking!
Once again I am contacting you regarding some new music I have coming out. However this time it’s a little different. First of all it’s not entirely new and perhaps more surprisingly it’s not Metal or Hard Rock!
From 1996 to 2000 I was in a band called Arch Stanton with my good friend Clive Jackson (He celebrates his 50th birthday on May 10th so if you buy a copy then it would be a great present for him Emoji) and former Vendetta members Gary Foalle and Mick Robson. The late 90’s was not a great time to be a widdly widdly axeman so I decided to try my hand at writing in a more pop/rock style and Arch Stanton was the result. Recently I was able to go back in the studio with the band and cut three new songs that we weren’t able to record at the time and the upshot is that when we put it all together it sounded so good we thought you should be able to hear/purchase it if you so desired.
I’ve supplied a few links for you to check out so you can listen to some sound clips and view what I used to look like when I was a lot younger. The dollar conversion is about £6.50
Many thanks for taking the time to check out a bit of my musical history.
