Psych-Doom/Drone powerhouse Memnon Sa are streaming their debut album Citadel over with Noisey US.
The album takes and merges sounds from a number of different genres, which gives it a very transcendental appeal. There are elements of influence from doom/drone bands such as Sunn O))) and Boris (think Altar and Mabuta No Ura), however there are also hints of 70’s devotional Kraut Rock and dark Folk influences throughout the album, which adds a tense rhythmic element to the album.
Overall the album comes together to create a slow building tense, and almost tribal sound, which only adds to the atmosphere and appeal of Citadel.
