On Tuesday night (allowing for time differences), Theories frontman Rick Powell was shot three times while some worthless piece of shit tried to rob him.
First, the good news – he has responded well to treatment and operations, and is recovering after spending some time in a critical condition.
The bad news is that due to the way the US medical system works, his attacker has left him pretty much destitute as he has to pay for all the care he required to survive.
If you can spare a few dollars, there’s a donation page set up. Even a couple of dollars can help as I’m sure his care will run into the hundreds of thousands. If you don’t like donating, then consider buying some of the band’s merchandise – I’m sure the cash will trickle down to him that way as well.
He’s received a lot of support already, but remember this isn’t a huge world-touring band but a small bunch of guys trying to make ends meet through music.
