#ROADTOBOA Interview: The Heretic Order

Bloodstock 2016 logoHere we go again… Last year we covered every band on the Hobgoblin New Blood and Jagermeister stages in the run-up to Bloodstock 2015. This year, we’re going one better and aim to have interviews from all the bands on those two stages as well as all of those on the SOPHIE stage prior to the event kicking off on August 11th. That’s almost 100 interviews to get online for you lucky people over the course of the next couple of weeks. I bloody love this job, but you lot owe me a beer at Catton Hall, right?

Thanks to all the bands who’ve taken the time to respond!

The Heretic Order – SOPHIE stage, Saturday

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

The band is from London , the members from Hell, ha ha!

How did you meet?

Knew each other from before Lord Ragner put the band together and brought everyone one under the order.

How long have you been playing together as a band?

Since April 2014.

Where does the name of the band come from?

The Heretic Order it says it all.

What are your influences – individually or as a band?

Sabbath, Dio, Mercyful Fate, Hammer House of Horror movies, darkness, horror stories.

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

Horror metal. Nowadays there is no uniqueness in music but we don’t follow current trends – we are what we are.

What’s your live show like – why should the baying hordes troop over to the stage you’re playing on to watch you?

We are very theatrical. We will have dancers performing (the Satanic Nymphs). The Devil’s minions know how to put on a show, pure fun and evil rock n’ roll .

When/how did you find out you’d been selected to play at Bloodstock?

At the beginning of July.

What sort of setlist can we expect?

Thirty minutes of metal rock n’ roll fun.

Which main stage band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?

No idea and we don’t care – we do what we do. Either way we play very early on Saturday morning.

What are you working on at the moment?

On how to destroy this wrenched humanity and leave the natural world in peace. When that is concluded we will start on the second album.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done on tour?

Too many to mention. Lord Ragnar has always been doing this even before he got in league with Satan. If it keeps you happy snorting coke from a Mexican prostitute’s arse crack… yummy.

What advice would you give to a young band just starting out today?

Do your thing, it’s the only thing that is really pure in this corrupt music business. And never suck up to anyone – it doesn’t work.

If you could be part of any 3-band line-up who else would you have on the bill? One band above you and one below – a chance to plug a smaller, unsigned act!

One for Sorrow, awesome London band, and the best headliner – King Diamond.

What stage / time are you playing at Bloodstock (if you have your slot yet!)

Saturday 11am Sophie stage. Works well as we never sleep!
