With the wind in our sails, the sound of boards creaking and a final “YAHAAR” we finally get to the last of our piratically-themed interviews from the recent Piratefest gig at The Arches in Glasgow. Headliners Alestorm thrust lead singer/songwriter Chris Bowes and bassist Gareth into the firing line to answer some more inane questions.

We talked about the usual piratical business – including which beverage is the finest for a pirate to sup post-plunder, what it’s like to be confused with Halestorm and two very important issues… is “Pirate Metal” an actual genre, and is this album really the “Sunset” for Alestorm?

Apologies for the wavering volume. I’ve done my best to make sure everything is loud enough to hear, but it does make for a few jumps. The joys of not being able to afford professional recording equipment!

Thanks to Chris and Gareth for their time – two great guys – and (again) to Nico the overworked tour manager for scheduling everything.
