Old interviews

I just found my original “Music Page” files, including about a dozen old interviews with the likes of Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost), Robb Flynn / Logan Mader (Machine Head), Ken Owen (Carcass), Dino Cazares (Fear Factory), Dave Neabore (Dog Eat Dog) and a bunch more.

Just because I can, I’m going to try and get them up on this blog over the next couple of weeks. The vast majority were exclusive to the old page and, even though they’re from the mid to late 1990’s, they make decent reading.

I also have the majority of them on cassette! Though right now I have no actual cassette player in the house as far as I can find. If I manage to dig one out, I might go as far as to get the recordings online somehow as well. Hey, why not, eh?

To let you in on an industry trick I also had one with Ice-T (weren’t Body Count just bloody amazing?), but I never used it. The reason? It was supplied as a recording of Ice-T answering questions which were enclosed on a printed sheet. The technique was for the “interviewer” to record themselves asking the questions and then edit Ice-T’s voice in answering them.

I always though this was cheating a bit. I understand the work involved in scheduling umpteen interviews, but… I dunno. It just didn’t seem right. I don’t think I have the tape any more, either. Shame.
