New Band of the Day: Tardy Brothers

Tardy Brother – Bloodline

You may have heard of the Tardy Brothers before. In fact, you bloody well should have – or at least the bands they’ve been in.

John and Donald formed Executioner in 1984. They changed the name some time later to Xecutioner (I guess a clash of names with another band) and in 1989 they settled on Obituary. If you don’t recognise that name then you’re on the wrong website.

As far as I can tell, they’ve released one LP (Bloodline) but are working on something new. This is a side project from Obituary which is very much continuing strongly.

The material is almost as heavy as Obituary, but definitely not quite as “death”. There’s more of a groove to it, and the vocals are fairly guttural. If you find death metal a bit too heavy for your liking, then you might still like this.
