Wildfire Band Profile – Turbyne

In case you didn’t know (get out from under that rock!) we’re hosting a third stage at Wildfire this year on the Saturday and Sunday. Just to make sure you know what mouthwatering musical delights are heading your way, we’ll be featuring a profile of each of “our” bands in the runup!

Wildfire is held at Wiston Lodge, about 30 mins south of Glasgow, from June 23rd to 25th and tickets can be purchased from the official website.

Name: Turbyne

From: Dumfries

Playing: Sunday, 15:10 (note – Valafar now on at 16:10)

Yes, this post is ages after the others in the series. And this is because we’ve only just been able to confirm them! Turbyne impressed me greatly when I saw them opening the recent Metal 2 the Masses Glasgow Final at Ivory Blacks with their natural stage presence and twin vocals. They’re bouncy, they’re catchy, they’re heavy and they manage to mix a wealth of styles into their sound.

Formed in 2001 they’ve garnered a well deserved following and released one album, 2015’s Origins and Endings, and three EPs. They’re no strangers to the live scene, either, and actually featured on Wildfire’s list in 2016.

Check out a snippet of what to expect below and don’t miss them when they make their return on the Sunday afternoon this year!
